No.1 Ben Nevis

It started so well. No rain, cloud lifting, not too cold which meant that we were almost halfway up before we met the cloud and then the driving rain at about 750 metres. Still we were all doing good and making great time.

Let’s just say, the higher we went the worse it got. Visibility was 5-10 metres. Beyond that it was pretty difficult to discern anything, but the cairns (or is it a person?) guided us to the trig point at the summit in 2 hrs 25 mins.

But from that point on it just got grimmer and grimmer. Like really grim.
So we arrived back at the bottom pretty soaked and bedraggled. But with the minimum of faff (actually there was still quite a bit of faffing as the toilets were closed because of a plumbing issue) - thanks to our wonderful support team we were on the road before 12pm.
Now there’s the small matter of the 260 miles south to Scafell Pike, ETA sometime after 6pm.
Praying for no traffic jams/accidents/punctures etc. And some sleep for everyone…apart from the drivers.😎
One down, two to go.
Ben Nevis fact: did you know that for about 15 years at the end of the 19th century there was a permanently manned weather observatory on the summit. The mind boggles. Rather them than me!

Well done Team! One down two to go!
Well done! Keep smashing it!
Sounds a tough day, well done all. Hope all goes well on your next peak.
Looking forward to reading about it. Amazing keep going.
Well done everyone 1 down 2 to go. With the Lord's help and our prayers you will all make it
